A laptop (also known as a notebook) is a personal computer designed for mobile use. A laptop integrates most of the typical components of a desktop computer, including a display, a keyboard, a pointing device (a touchpad, also known as a trackpad, and/or a pointing stick) and speakers into a single unit. A laptop is powered by mains electricity via an AC adapter, and can be used away from an outlet using a rechargeable battery. A laptop battery in new condition typically stores enough energy to run the laptop for three to five hours, depending on the computer usage, configuration and power management settings. When the laptop is plugged into the mains, the battery charges, whether or not the computer is running, with the exception of some laptops.

There are more chances that you damage your laptop than a desktop PC and notebooks are more difficult and more expensive to repair. So follow these tips to care for it.

1. Keep the Toshiba satellite l200 battery cool: Avoid heat and use the battery to a minimum. If you use it connected to the wall for a while, shut down or hibernate the laptop, remove the battery and work without it.

2. Be careful with food and drink: If you spill coffee on your keyboard that could cause a short circuit on the motherboard. (I keep my cup of tea as far as possible from the electronics).

3. When working at your desk, connect a monitor, keyboard and mouse: This protects things far more valuable than your Dell latitude d630 battery laptop, your arms, hands and eyes. It is impossible to create an appropriate work environment and ergonomic with a small keyboard connected to a small monitor.

4. When traveling, find the right carrying case and bag the laptop properly: Depending on your preferences, find a carrying case, backpack or bag with a padded section, designed for a laptop.

5. Clean the keyboard the right way: Turn off the PC. Keep it open while upside down and shake gently to the crumbs falling off the keyboard. Then use a can of compressed air, available for a few dollars at any computer store, to blow what’s left behind. (But first read the directions on the can).

6. Clean the Dell inspiron 6000 battery screen when needed: Start with a dry cloth micro fiber (you can buy at computer stores and photography and also a spray to clean laptop). Scrub using circular movements. Do it gently, but apply a little pressure on the spots.

If necessary, make your own cleaning solution by mixing in a bottle of distilled water (make sure it is distilled) and white vinegar in equal portions. Make sure your Dell latitude d830 battery laptop is off. Sprinkle this mixture lightly on the micro fiber cloth, not the monitor. Rub as stated above and wait 10 minutes before turning on the laptop.

Battery Reconditioning Tips

October 22nd, 2010

Battery Reconditioning quickly became a very easy to save money with rechargeable batteries such as Dell latitude d630 battery. Rather than simply dismiss it if they have not exercised the power over many people began to catch up. The initial cost is low, but the rewards are saved a lot of money.

Although the overhaul of the Dell laptop battery is pretty easy once the correct method for this type battery, I recommend investing in a guide that has instructions on how to collect different types of batteries. Available on the Internet and look different is a fastest lap.

Here are some tips to help you if you go to start their own batteries:

Tip 1: All batteries are not equal. Any other type has a its own different method of processing. This means that the method for lead-acid batteries do not work on your laptop batteries or AA batteries. Because each type of battery has a slightly different composition of the method for each of them is a bit different.

Tip 2: Get a good set of instructions. Although repair is not an exact science, you must follow the steps carefully to get good results. A guide will tell you which method you use the Dell latitude d820 battery and give you some tips for success.

Tip 3: Be patient. Certain types of batteries last longer than others to be outdated. For example, lead-acid batteries (the type found in the car) may be as completely revised for 2 weeks. It’s worth the time and costs money to get it (in the first battery can save $ 60). So if you have given to Dell latitude d830 battery a little more time and see if it does the trick.

Tip 4: Always remember safety. When ever you on batteries (mainly lead-acid) for all jewelry that has agreed to remove. Keep lead acid batteries in a well ventilated in the treatment process by giving off gases during the process.

For recondition batteries in the home saved me a lot of money. I like the fact that I have a contribution to environmental protection, such as charging a battery from a landfill for a while.

A smartphone is a mobile phone that offers more advanced computing ability and connectivity than a contemporary basic feature phone. Smartphones and feature phones may be thought of as handheld computers integrated within a mobile telephone, but while most feature phones are able to run applications based on platforms such as Java ME, a smartphone allows the user to install and run more advanced applications based on a specific platform. Smartphones run complete operating system software providing a platform for application developers

Many current mobile phones do not provide a long time discharge battery, Android iPhone, BlackBerry, Palm or othere smart mobile phone! Here are some tips to help you save energy, extend the last time you get from each charge on your phone:

  1. Reduce screen brightness. In many situations, we do not need to set brightness of the screen at highest level. Reducing the brightness can save a lot of precious Dell latitude d610 battery juice.
  2. Without the good Vibrations. Although we all like to be able to vibrate mode, it should not be stopped! Vibrate mode on the phone uses more power than a basic tone on your mobile phone.
  3. Turn off Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS. Keep these services off when you’re not use them, so it does not suck dry the Dell latitude d620 battery unnecessarily.
  4. Use a black background. The color white waste much more energy than black, as far as possible in darker colors. You can even Google in black on battery4.us. AMOLED screen phones have the largest screen saver with some black color units with up to 7 times less energy!
  5. Check e-mail only you need. Most modern cell phones, e-mail automatically configured for a specific time, or been pushed to the phone. These features can unnecessarily consume Dell latitude d520 battery energy when you walk you want to phone any longer. Simple and easy to deactivate and check their email manually or extension of deadlines for the controls as far as possible from each other.
  6. Lower the volume. Only the volume as high as you are when listening to music or videos, stronger, more power is needed draining the Dell latitude d430 battery.
  7. Use basic ring music. The more the phone has, the more they will do is do it. Advanced ringtones can sound better, but the phone will die soon!
  8. Reduced waiting time display. Starting at the lowest possible waiting time for your phone at the screen after it. Better yet, turn off the screen when you use the phone and not let it turn off automatically after the set time.
  9. Turn off the phone. Can be extended in time you are away from your mobile phone or call any, and turn down obviously saves energy to be. You also want to turn it off when you know you are out of reach of a longer period and can not service the network. Many phones use much more energy in search of a network connection when out of range.

Above tips just can save some energy when you use smartphone (extend your battery working time). But it can not prolong the battery life, I suggest you buy a extra battery when the battery can not last longer.

Dell tip for lithum laptop battery

September 3rd, 2010

Q Is it easy to install a battery?

a Yes, very easy. First, make sure all open files are saved. Next, either attach the aC adapter directly to the lap or set the system to “hibernate” mode or shut off. Release the latch on the current battery, and simply install the replacement Dell Latitude D830 Battery.

Q Will Dell laps accept non-Dell batteries?

a Dell has a rigorous qualification process by which all Dell batteries are validated to ensure proper function, performance and safety. Some non-Dell batteries are available in the market with claims of compatibility with Dell systems. Dell cannot verify these claims, nor the safety of using them in a Dell system. Dell strongly encourages our customers to use only Dell lap batteries advertised as appropriate for their lap model. Only Dell lap batteries come with a 1-year warranty, are engineered for optimal safety and performance for Dell systems, and are supported by Dell technical support for the length of the warranty period.

Q What is a modular bay battery?

a In some lap systems Dell offers a Latitude D620 Battery that can be used in the optical drive media bay (DVD/CD drive bay). This enables the use of two batteries, potentially extending the available run time.

Q If I install a modular bay battery, are my primary and modular bay batteries working at the same time to power my lap computer?

a No, the modular bay battery is used first, then the system automatically switches to the primary battery. This is a deliberate design to allow the most amount of run time to remain in the primary XPS M1330 battery in case the modular bay battery is removed and replaced with an optical drive.

Q For what use is the strip of LED lights on my battery?

a Most Dell batteries have an LED indicator that allows users to see how much run time and how much overall battery life are available at the touch of a button.

To check Sony VGP-BPS8 charge, press the button and the number of lights that appear will tell you charge status. If all lights appear, you have a fully charged battery. Each light that appears accounts for approximately 20% charge.

To check the battery health, press and hold the status button on the battery charge gauge for at least 3 seconds. If no lights appear, the battery is in good condition and approximately more than 80 percent of its original charge capacity remains. Each light represents incremental degradation. If five lights appear, approximately less than 60 percent of the charge capacity remains, and you should consider replacing the Inspiron 1545 Battery .

Q What does Dell recommend for battery storage for a long period of time?

a When storing for more than 4 days these guidelines can better preserve the life of your battery:

Do not store batteries for long periods plugged into or attached to any power source. This includes aC adapters and lap security carts plugged into an outlet.

Lap batteries, including those stored in lap systems, should maintain an Operational Storage Temperature of 0° to 35°C (32° to 95°F).

Batteries may be stored in the lap or outside of the lap.

Charge batteries before storing. The recommended charging time should not exceed 1 hour. Typically, this should charge the laptop battery to between 80% and 100%. (Some discharge will take place over time. Stored batteries are expected to discharge 10-15% over a four month period, for your information.)

Q are there restriction with taking lithium-ion batteries on planes?

a Effective January 1, 2008, the Department of Transportation (DOT) through the Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety administration (PHMSa) will no longer allow loose lithium batteries in checked baggage. These batteries may continue to be packed in carry-on baggage.

8 Tips to improve laptop battery running time

August 18th, 2010

Sometimes we found that the laptop battery running time can not get the maximum as the Laptop manufacture claimed. In Dell website the Dell 9 Cell extend Dell Inspiron 1520 battery can last 7 hours (so long time). But in our daily use the battery only can run 5-6 hours. Where did the rest 1 hours go? In fact the 7 hours is the standard time that the battery run in the strict situation.

Below the battery4.us list the strict situation for you to get back the lost 1 hours. To increase the Vostro 1510 battery discharge time (maximum running time), try the following tips:

1. Set the Control Panel – Power profile to Max Battery and use timeouts to hibernate the system when not being used for more than ten minutes or so.

2. Set the power settings so that the screen and hard disk are disabled after five minutes of inactivity.

3. Reduce the screen brightness as much as you can.

4. Switch off the wireless card whenever you are not using it that can save Dell inspiron 6000 battery power.

5. Disconnect any peripherals eg if you use a USB flash memory stick, copy any files you need and then unplug it. This can give an extra 20 minutes or so of use.

6. Do not connect PCMCIA cards (PC cards) unless you need to use them. Remove them when not needed.

7. Change the Control Panel – Alarm settings to their absolute minimum (eg 4%). This can gain an extra ten minutes of use (but the notebook may cut out suddenly if you have a degraded Dell Latitude D830 battery).

8. Do not access a CD more than required. If possible copy or install any software you might need from the CD onto the hard disk and then remove the CD.

Though the 8 tips above may reduce our laptop using experience , but to save the cost of buying another battery. We’d better follow the tips when using laptop with the Dell latitude D620 battery .
