Froyo Android 2.2, a step forward and a top speed of 450% higher than earlier releases

Android Froyo 2.2 seems to be the most important event this May. While there is much talk of the next iPhone 4G (seems to be a further confirmation came aesthetics of the square famous prototype Gizmodo), the other the new distribution of Android and the event Google I / O May 19 are the two topics that collect the interest of many developers.

Yesterday we saw the first image of Froyo 2.2 and small changes made to the interface. In fact, Google seems to have worked a lot on performance, is implementing new features, but also optimizing the code to make Android much more powerful.

Police Android seems to be holding the new version of Nexus, and after some trials and tests, the result seems to be 450% better than previous versions of Android. Perhaps it may seem extreme, but a value below we show you some screens to confirm the improvements.

We collect the following main points of the analysis made:

* Froyo 2.2 incorporates Flash 10.1 and we know this, but what was perhaps to be confirmed is the goodness of the plugin and the execution speed of this new feature of Nexus. No slowdown and good flow.
* Tests were made through LinkPack, a tool for bencmark, and have achieved amazing results. These results are so impressive most likely due to the introduction of the eagerly awaited JIT-compiled into the kernel.

Linpack test:

* Nexus receives about 6.5 to 7 with Android 2.1 MFLOPS
* HTC Hero comes to about 2MFLOPS (of course the hardware is very different)

Here is a screenshot dell’Hero:

HTC Hero Linpack numbers

Froyo the Linpack rating:

* Nexus comes with Froyo 2.2 to 37.5 MFLOPS.

EXCLUSIVE: AndroidPolice.com ‘s Nexus One Is Running Android 2.2 Froyo. How Fast Is It Compared To 2.1? Oh, Only About 450% Faster

If you calculate the percentage of improvement we get the value (unbelievable) 450% higher than the test with Android 2.1.

Given the values and the proof we just have to wait Froyo with extreme curiosity. If the results are indeed confirmed in the final version, the already fast system Android could achieve incredible performance goals.

What do you think?

Note: The performance of 450% are not equivalent to saying that the entire system will be faster as the test LinkPack acts only on some parts of the hardware. However it is an excellent result!
